Welcome to the First Communion Preparation Program

at St. William Parish!

 

The First Communion Preparation Program is designed to aid kids who have received the Sacraments of Baptism, to learn more about their Catholic faith and to prepare them to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. 

 

Please note that the Archdiocese of Chicago recommends that students should begin the First Communion preparation process no later than in 1st Grade and complete it in 2nd Grade by receiving the Sacrament of the First Holy Communion. We understand, however, that every family's situation is different, and we are ready to assist anyone who requests First Communion preparation.

 

Parents will also be involved in this process. We will be holding formation meetings for parents to give them the knowledge to assist their children in the First Communion preparation process. 

 

The tuition for the First Communion Prep which includes the retreat is $180.00 for the first year of preparation and $280 for the second year and can be paid in three installments. A $50.00 non-refundable administrative and book fee along with a copy of your baptismal certificate is required at registration. If you are under the age of 18, please have a parent or legal guardian accompany you to registration and complete the Parental Permission form. The classes will begin in September 2023.

 

Please complete the required application with a copy of your baptismal certificate and bring it with you to Religious Education Office or to the Parish Office located in the Rectory.  If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
